Educator
Sarah has taught writing in traditional university classrooms, as well as corporate, virtual, and unconventional settings, like the streets of Key West.
ILO Global Storytelling Series
Sarah designed and facilitated a storytelling training for the International Labour Organization’s Better Work Programme, teaching composition alongside techniques to identify and illuminate human interest stories. She has delivered the training to teams around the globe virtually, and in-person to teams in Geneva and Bangkok.
Old Town Literary Walking Tour
When Sarah lived in Key West, she was inspired by the endless stories of writers that have worked and lived on the island. In conjunction with the Key West Literary Seminar, Sarah researched and founded the Old Town Literary Walking Tour, a stroll through downtown Key West, illuminating stories of writers that have called the island home. The tour features the former homes and favorite haunts of writers, including Tennessee Williams, Shel Silverstein, Elizabeth Bishop, and Robert Frost, and highlights tales of our lesser-known local talent. The tour has been featured in Travel + Leisure, PBS, Samantha Brown’s “Places to Love,” and elsewhere. Book here.

Leadership Enterprise of a Diverse America
In 2015, Sarah began as a writing instructor for LEDA, an organization “dedicated to helping exceptional young people overcome challenging circumstances to reach and succeed at the most selective colleges.” Sarah spent three summers in residence at Princeton University for the program, teaching research, academic criticism and personal essay writing. She has continued to work with students remotely, seeing them through the college application process and beyond, as they have gone on to matriculate at top-tier universities.
